Be Vigilant and Generous With Sunscreen

In this searing heat, I enjoin all others to be generous and vigilant in applying their sunscreen, even if they're not going swimming. If you don't want to be scouring the net for prototype 37-c reviews anytime soon, make sure you put sunscreen on everytime you go out. Don't forget your face especially.

And women, it wouldn't hurt to put generous amounts on your decolletage too, especially if you are going swimming and your lovely cleavage is going to be exposed to the sun's heat. Sun exposure can dry your skin there up and may just result in more sagging. We don't want that.

Don't forget your face, neck, arms and chest area. Everyday, protect these areas from the sun's rays and delay the signs of aging. Plus, avoid skin cancer.

Poctoy White Beach Resort - Marinduque

Poctoy White Beach Resort is a government-run resort in the island of Marinduque. It is in Torrijos, 31 kilometers from the town of Buenavista. That's about 1.5 hours away from Buenavista then.

You will pass the road that turns towards Malbog Sulfur Springs and Marinduque Hotsprings Resort on the way to Torrijos. You will also have a great view of Mt. Malindig. The road going to Poctoy White Beach Resort is at least properly paved so the journey is a breeze. Ther road will only become a dirt road when you're already going towards the beach resort proper.

The sand there is part white sand and part crushed corals. The place is clean and the huts can be rented for P150. Torrijos waters is clean but there's sea grass in its waters, which may bother other swimmers.

Don't be surprised to see Bellaroca guests swimming here with you as there's really no beach at Elephant island.

Katang - Marinduque Crab

Last year, I enjoyed kagang, a tough-shelled crab in Marinduque that is usually cooked in coconut milk, with its fat mixed with coconut meat.

Still, the tough shell was really a hassle, considering I am usually patient with crabs.

Enter the katang, another crab local in Marinduque. The great thing about it though is that it's almost soft-shelled. Its shell is so easy to crack when cooked, it's like eating crablets. Katang crabs don't grow big as well, but they grow fat and meaty in the clean Marinduque waters. They are caught in summer, with April as peak season for catching them. Usually, children will just be selling the fresly-caught ones on the street. A kilo and a half cost us P80. Tres cheap for the really meaty goodness this particular kind of crab offers. Plus, they are sold alive and they are really, really, really clean.

BIL cooked ours in sweet chili style

So when in Marinduque, ask the locals to tell you if katang is being sold. Kagang, you can buy from the marketplace when available, but katang is not that easily had. And it's really crab greatness without the worry if it's clean or fresh (it doesn't even smell malansa).

Health Insurance for the Mid-Year Bonus

I know that fewer and fewer companies are actually able to offer mid-year incentives to their employees. But those that still can are sure to be much appreciated by their employees. And those employees that can still enjoy tem are probably using them for trips or tuition fees.

Considering the heat however, and all the diseases that are hitting people at a younger age, people should also consider pouring over health insurance quotes and investing in something as esstential.

They can ask people from their yahoogroups or their circle of friends for inputs and recommendations. And then they can make informed decisions which plan is really suited to their needs.

Health insurance is a good and necessary investment. One really doesn't want to be caught sick and unprepared without one.

Keep Portions Snack Sized

Studies have shown that people may not need to use stuff like Phentermine 37.5 and other weight loss products if only they were trained to eat single-serve portions, or snack sizes. They said that people who have been given single serve chips or whatever else are more likely to get the same amount from a big bag than those who have been dipping their fingers in big bags from the start.

This is particularly important for parents to know. Sometimes, because of the savings, we always opt for the family-sized portions but also end up buying more of these. Our kids then don't learn to only eat their portion size, they learn free rein on food.

Case in point: my parents would often give us say, a piece of candy each. Or we would divide a whole pizza for the whole family. We'd have a limited smount of food that is ours. My husband's family was different. They would buy three or more family sized pizzas so that everyone can eat to bursting. MIL would buy packs and packs of candies or bread or fruit or sodas. No one need learn to really share or exercise portion control because there's just real plenty for everyone. What happens though is that some food end up being half eaten because a person was actually already full but there was just all these food around beckoning him to eat. And hubs' family is generally overweight.

Parents need to teach their kids to learn when to stop eating and wait for that feeling of fullness, instead of waiting for that feeling of fullness while continuing to eat. It is not only important for kids to learn the value of temperance, it is also important to their long-term health.

Of course, there are things we should buy in bulk because we use them often, like milk. But especially for junk food, best to keep things snack sized.

Expo Moms at Rockwell: A Belated Mother's Day Treat

From diaper bags to breast-feeding clothes--today's moms need and want a lot of stuff to help them in their daily lives.

For the third straight year, Expo Mom, a lifestyle event, will gather under one roof the latest, best and most interesting stuff for moms including newly launched and hard-to-find products.

To be held on May 23 at the Rockwell Tent, this year's Expo Mom Year 3 will have as theme "The Mompreneur Market" and will highlight the expo's advocacy to promote mommy-owned "mompreneur" businesses. Organizers of this event also recently launched their mompreneur network called Mompreneur Manila.

Moms can take part in activities at the stage area and bring their kids to special activities.

And since motherhood is about giving, moms will be given a chance to share their blessings by dropping off used baby clothes and shoes, baby equipment, maternity clothes, and any other items at the MomShare crib by the entrance. These items will be donated to other moms in need.

Expo Mom Year 3 is organized by Mommy Mundo and presented by Mommy Matters and the Philippine Association for Childbirth Education with support from GlaxoSmithkline, Johnson's Baby, Stemcord cordblood banking, Cycles Mild Laundy Detergent, Cradles, RCBC Savings Bank, and the Lifestyle Network.

For inquiries, call 7148572 or e-mail inquiry@expomom.com

Personally, I didn't like a previous Expo Mom event because they didn't let in other brands, like Blissfulbabes, because they're a direct competitor of Mommy Matters in nursing wear. Of course I'd rather mommies have more options when they go to something like an Expo Mom. Sort of like a Wedding Expo where everything is just really there.

Still, I am sure that families will enjoy the activities and the freebies. I am also sure that there will be a lot of important topics helpful to parents and there is usually a breastfeeding/changing area so mothers need not worry about that. And am sure they'd have a field day going through all the racks of clothing there, for moms and babies. Moms can even go exchange birthing stories with other moms, from the time they first felt the contyractions and whether a pulse oximeter was used on them or not.

Chances are, products are also sold in discounted rates... or with freebies. So make sure to mark your calendars and go. Let this be a belated Happy Mother's Day for the Mommy of the family.

The Best Weight Loss Product

Before people start turning to manufactured supplements for the best weight loss product there is, they really should consider drinking more water first. Yes, water. It's the cheapest, healthiest weight loss product out there.

I am not suggesting for people to ingest water and only that but doubling or tripling your water intake, especially in this summer heat, will boost your chances of losing weight naturally. Water helps your body function. Water helps you cool. Water helps you rid your body of toxins. Water helps keep your skin elastic and healthy.

The great thing about water is that it's also in a lot of fruits and vegetables that are healthy for us. Eat more apples and oranges and watermelon and mangoes. Eat more melons and cucumber and jicama. And drink young coconut milk or fresh buko juice. These are all refreshing, cooling and rich in the necessary vitamins and minerals to keep you going.

Let water fuel your body to weight loss. It is the best weight loss product there is.

The Little House Books

If you must invest on a book series, one of the best I can recommend is the Little House Books by Laura Ingalls Wilder. Not only is it a great book about the way of life of early Americans but it also teaches a lot of values on things that matter, like hard work, respect for nature, parenting, faith in God and hard work.

Read about men in breeches gentling horses, surviving hard winters, keeping house, raising animals and crops. Learn how to prepare some homegrown dishes like sour dough biscuits, headcheese and fried apples and onions. Wonder about how people survived taking baths once a week (usually, every Saturday night in time for Sunday worship the day after) and keeping warm without coal and firewood.

Collect quotes, especially from Laura's Pa.

"It's an ill wind that doesn't blow some good."

"Never bet your money on another man's game."

"Best be on the safe side, it saves trouble in the end."

At the very least, your child should appreciate how much easier things are for them right now.

Breakouts During Pregnancy

Horrified over breakouts on your face and reading pronexin reviews? Aghast at warts developing all over your chest? Is your skin dry, or oilier than usual? Are you having rashes and itchiness?

Wait, are you also pregnant?

If yes, then that is the culprit. Pregnancy hormones are resulting in all these dermatological maladies. And for the most part, you really should just grin and bear it while maybe applying something to soothe the itching and sensitivity. See, some derm products aren't safe for use during pregnancy and lactation. What's more, your skin might not react in the way it should, and breakouts just might end up being aggravated.

Make sure you don't self-medicate and consult your doctor for really troublesome acne. If you're lucky, you will only have problems during the first trimester (but then have to deal with stretch marks on your 3rd) and everything will resolve on its own within six months of giving birth, after your hormone levels have really normalized.

Do eat a healthy diet and try to get all the sleep and rest you can get. No use aggravating something you really cannot control.
